In communities across Maryland, access to food and essential resources continues to be an obstacle for individuals and families to overcome. In Montgomery County alone, an estimated 1 out of 12 people suffer from food insecurity. The Manna Food Center is on a mission to prevent this as much as possible by eliminating hunger through food distribution, education, and advocacy. Our agency values the work Manna Food Center has done for our community and will continue to support them in achieving its ambitious goal.
Manna Food Center functions as a critical link between safe, nutritious foods and our community’s most vulnerable neighbors. They seek to achieve their mission using three key objectives: increase access to healthy foods, strengthen community food skills, and connect neighbors in need of resource providers and each other.
What began as a food distribution service in a vacant elementary school serving just several hundred people has bloomed into a highly recognized food bank that now serves approximately 12,000 pounds of food to tens of thousands of neighbors in need.
Manna Food Center would love to reach the needs of every resident who does not meet the county’s self-sufficiency standard, but it cannot be achieved alone. They rely on the community’s compassion to keep operations running smoothly. Please consider helping our neighbors today so they can have a better tomorrow.
We are committed to raising awareness in our community and giving our customers, partners, and anybody else that cares the ability to make an impact themselves. We will donate $10 on your behalf to our current Community Cause campaign for every person you recommend to us.
